Cindy Long, our sister in Christ, passed away in the morning hours of July 6, 2010. I am compelled to share what God has laid on my heart and mind concerning her ministry God blessed her with and her commitment to Gospel of Jesus Christ. There was no doubting Cindy’s love of the Lord, she was steadfast and loyal to the ministries God called her to and displayed a zealous fervor to see those ministries both initiated and fulfilled to their greatest potential. She always desired to be the best she could be for the Master. I knew Cindy myself, her overflowing enthusiasm for Godly endeavors overwhelmed me. She sought constantly to not only do well in what the Father trusted her with, but to do exceedingly well, to be the best possible, for the sake of the most excellent Gospel of Jesus Christ. Cindy followed (Romans 12:1-2 ) “Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” She shared with me her passion for service to God and her love of God’s Word. She joined us at my home for a study group, sharing her desire to follow (2 Timothy 2:15 ) “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.” Cindy Long is a blessing to those who know her, for to know her is to peer into the heart of the Master. With Cindy’s passing will come great heart ache and a sense of loss, for another soldier of the Cross has left this earthly battlefield and the places she filled in the battle lines will be evident to us who are still fighting the war for the Truth here on earth. Her family, both physical and spiritual, will mourn her passing; we will miss her smile and the love she so openly displayed. Yet, I can not help but feeling, deep within my being, a sense of joy for her. For she is with the Master, (Philippians 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.) My dear sister has attained, she will not have to feel the touch of pain or sorrow ever again, and she is now experiencing total fulfillment of the Gospel she loved so much and she will forever more. Praise God, her joy is complete. Amen.
